My Workspaces & Leo The Baker

I haven't updated you guys in a while, due to the end of third year quickly approaching, and having so much work to do! As an apology, here's a look at where I usually do most of my work, at Uni. I'm very nosey when it comes to things like this, so I thought maybe you will be too ~

My workspace - at it's tidiest.
I had a couple of weeks off at Easter, so I had to get used to working at home again. It felt very weird, I try to avoid working at home as much as possible because more often than not I get distracted by a person or a screen, or similar. Here's the space I managed to make for myself, anyway ~

It's going to be difficult once I finish Uni. While I love my room, working at home just isn't the same! I tend to be extremely messy when drawing and stuff, so in the very least I think I'll need a bigger desk...

Anyway, if you are anything like me, you may have been squinting to see what I was up to in these spaces. I've been working on my honours project - a children's book based on a donut baker who loses track of one of his donuts. I finally decided on the title - 'Leo's Lost Donut' - and yesterday I gave my final work to the printers, so I should have a finished hardback book by Wednesday! I am very excited :)

About 70 donuts - for my book's endpapers.

At my work experience place (where my lovely big sister works as a plush designer), I had a word with the boss, and manged to get a plush made up of my character, Leo. I couldn't be happier with him, and I have so much respect for the amazing talents that put him together from my original drawing. Here's the Leo design, the prototype plush, and the finished Leo plush ~

Thanks for stopping by, I'll update soon when I get my finished book!

Illustration Friday - 'Egg'

Happy Easter Monday everyone! Hope you got the exact amount of chocolate that you wanted.

Here's a little magpie chick hatching in celebration of this mysterious holiday. He will feature in the up-coming children's book, too, which I am trying to knuckle down with... hope you like him!
